1. Start with the official source.
Open the developer's website yourself. Check the domain before signing in or downloading. A reuploaded installer in a video comment, a cracked copy, or a message from someone posing as support can differ from the developer's release.
For our beta, start at the War Dogs ESP product page. Sign in there to find the download and the published release checksum. Get the required capture driver directly from its publisher, rather than an unofficial bundle.
2. Keep Windows security on.
Do not turn off antivirus or add a blanket security exclusion because a download tells you to. A warning deserves investigation. Scan the file and ask the developer about the exact warning before proceeding.
Our initial beta does not have a Windows publisher code-signing certificate. Windows can therefore show an unknown-publisher warning. That warning is not proof of malware, and being unsigned is not proof of safety either.
3. Know what an integrity check proves.
A file checksum helps confirm that the bytes match the release the developer published. It does not establish that those bytes are harmless.
War Dogs ESP verifies its automatic updates using a signed update manifest and a file hash before running an installer. This protects the update path against an altered file. It is separate from a Windows publisher certificate and is not an independent security audit.
4. Ask what runs and what leaves your PC.
An unexpected cryptocurrency miner gives your hardware work you did not ask for. Sustained CPU or GPU use while the game and app are closed is worth investigating, although high usage alone cannot tell you which process is responsible or prove that mining is happening.
A developer should explain background activity and data collection. During our beta, the app sends diagnostic categories and numeric performance counters to help investigate problems. The service does not accept screenshot, audio, raw-packet, or player-name uploads through its diagnostic endpoint. Diagnostic files are scheduled for deletion after 14 days.

5. Separate PC security from game rules.
A clean download does not make a cheat permitted by a game's rules. There is no promise of undetectability, account protection, or complete tracking. Check the game's rules and the product's current limitations before deciding to use it.
If something about our beta looks wrong, stop using it and report the issue through the signed-in product page. Keep your password, activation key, and recovery code out of the report.
